Summary:
Kricket Hollowell never wished upon stars. She was too busy hiding in plain sight, eluding Chicago’s foster care system. As her eighteenth birthday approaches, she now eagerly anticipates the day she’ll stop running and finally find her place in the world.
That day comes when she meets a young Etharian soldier named Trey Allairis, who has been charged with coming to Earth to find Kricket and transport her to her true home. As danger draws close, he must protect her until she can wield the powers she cannot use on Earth…and he soon realizes that counting a galaxy of stars would be easier than losing this extraordinary girl.
Kyon Ensin knows the powerful depths of Kricket’s gifts—gifts he’ll control when he takes her for his tribe and leads the forces that will claim Ethar and destroy his enemies, starting with Trey Allairis. Now, Kricket faces the most difficult choice of her life: whether to wage a battle for survival or a fight for love.

Review:
*The publisher provided this book in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.*
Kricket Hollowell is a runaway orphan who thinks she has seen everything there's to see while running from social services until one day two mysterious groups of extremely tall guys begging chasing her telling her they have to take her home.
All she ever wanted was to turn eighteen and stop hiding but she discovers she's not even from Earth!
Join Kricket while she discovers her new planet Ethar in the company of the etharian soldier Trey Allaris and his troops and running from the evil Kyon Ensin who is trying to take her for himself...
I have to start by saying that this book is completely awesome and blew my world completely! I wasn't expecting this excellency of the book and it did deliver way more than what I was expecting!
The world in this story is so detailed and worked with and you get that feeling of being an outsider but you don't feel alone!
I also admire the fact that the author did not surrender to "insta-love" and made it gradual and in a way that you see the love growing and you see how the characters in love end up discovering they are attracted to each other in a natural and realistic way!
If you love dystopian, world travelling, superpower and adrenaline kicks with a nuance of romance then this book is for you!

Favorite Quotes:
“I told him that when we first met... I felt like a butterfly trapped in a net. But... I told him that the more time I spent with him, the more I began to realize how much he means to me I told him that since it seems to be my destiny to dodge raindrops... I was grateful to be dodging them with him. So, I promised him that it would always be his name on my mind when I start my rotation... and when I go to bed each evening... and every quiet moment in between. It will be his name... savored on my lips... stretched across my heart... worshipped by my body... and branded in my mind... until death do us part... and forever after that.” ― Amy A.  “He was telling us that your voice will give comfort when the night becomes its blackest,” he replies. “And I’ll protect that voice with my body, my mind, and my spirit . . . because without it, I’m alone in the dark.” ― Amy A. Bartol, Under Different Stars
