Summary:

Catalia "Cat" Fisa is a powerful clairvoyant known as the Kingmaker. This smart-mouthed soothsayer has no interest in her powers and would much rather fly under the radar, far from the clutches of her homicidal mother. But when an ambitious warlord captures her, she may not have a choice…
Griffin is intent on bringing peace to his newly conquered realm in the magic-deprived south. When he discovers Cat is the Kingmaker, he abducts her. But Cat will do everything in her power to avoid her dangerous destiny and battle her captor at every turn. Although up for the battle, Griffin would prefer for Cat to help his people willingly, and he's ready to do whatever it takes to coax her…even if that means falling in love with her.

Cat is a powerful clairvoyant mostly known as the Kingmaker, even though that's supposed to be a secret. She has no interest in her powers and all she wants is to fly under the radar and be kept away from her awful and mysterious past. But when an ambitious warlord captures her whole world seems to be turned upside down and her homicidal mother starts trying to kill or capture her and she cannot let that happen.
All Griffin wants is to bring peace and prosperity to his newly conquered realm and for him, the key to accomplishing it is to have the Kingmaker's power on his side. Cat and Griffin don't start well but as the time goes on some kind of bond starts to form and their perspective on life starts to shift.
This is just such a fun book to read, I laughed so much that my parents thought I was going crazy. What I mean is that this book is very well balanced between adventure, heartache and funny moments, but sometimes some certain character's actions and thoughts will just make you laugh your ass off because they're awkward and sweet and funny, very very funny.
You know you've got something special on your hands when you actually read it in one sitting and that's what happened: I sat down to read before bed and when I noticed, I had finished the book and it was 7 A.M... So be warned, be very warned.
I absolutely loved the characters, they were genuine and they didn't seem to be like those cliché characters we're all tired of hearing about, they'll hook you up and you'll become addicted to them and their intricate personalities.
Honestly I can't really tell much more without risking telling to much or never stop writing about it, so I'm going to end this review by telling you that if you like unique fantasy stories, strong and sweet and sassy characters and a fantasy aspect that relates with myths but, at the same time doesn't, then this is a great book for you. Even if you don't, you should give it a try! Happy reading!
